Neonatal Care

Specialist care for your newborn, from their very first days.

The early days, weeks, and months with a new baby bring immense joy — and often plenty of questions. At Happy Kids Paediatrics, Dr Karen VanHaltren provides dedicated neonatal care for babies from birth up to 2 years of age, offering the specialist support and reassurance families need during this precious and sometimes overwhelming time.

We provide support for concerns such as:

  • Follow-up care for premature (preterm) infants: ongoing monitoring and support as your premature baby grows and develops.
  • Feeding and growth concerns: guidance where a baby is having difficulty feeding or isn’t growing as expected.
  • Rashes and birthmarks: assessment of skin concerns that can appear in the newborn period.
  • Irritability and unsettled behaviour: support for babies who are unusually unsettled, and guidance for the families caring for them.
